Feeling Good Friday

A few weeks back we were sitting in the psychiatrists office waiting to see what kind of magical jellicle med combo we were going to try next with Rye and I opened up the The New Yorker and saw this cartoon by Tom Cheney.
Touche.
______
Anyhoo, Happy Friday!   I am so glad it’s the weekend.  Not that [...]

The Medicine Is Helping

This is what Rye told me yesterday.  My only addition to that comment would be to say that it is an understatement.  The medicine changes are really helping.  Last week, the week before, the week before that, and the week before that if I had $100,000 in the bank I would have been madly applying [...]

I wonder if they used the generic or the brand name?  Lithium Carbonate or Lithium Orotate?
Interesting. I feel sorry for the mice involved in these [...]

Far Away Eyes

Well, I guess I should have seen it coming but Rye fell apart yesterday morning after coming home sick from school with a bad cold.  Mania revisit.  Without going into all of the details, it was not good.
Once you’ve seen the far away eyes of mania, you never forget it.  It’s haunting.
Despite my saying previously [...]

The Bullfighter

Life is often a dance over here.
A dance of emotions.  One day up, the next day down.  Normally for us this dance is manageable.  Up and down, yes, but manageable.  This dance, however, is exaggerated and heightened by change.  What are normally reasonable swells of emotions can become consuming, larger than life, dramatic, powerful, intense [...]
