Adaptive Skiing For Physical and Cognitive Disabilities

If you think your child with physical or cognitive disabilities won’t be able to snow ski, think again.  Adaptive skiing is one of the coolest and most inspirational things I’ve seen in a long time.

These programs help children (and adults) with everything from autism, developmental disabilities, missing limbs, multiple sclerosis, paralysis, blindness, and on and on, snow ski.

It’s incredible, awe-inspiring, and just downright nice to see.

Here are just a few of the programs available:

Steamboat Stars in Steamboat Springs, Colorado (I had to put this one first because Steamboat is one of my favorite places on Earth)

Beaver Creek in Beaver Creek. Colorado

Jackson Hole in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Park City in Park City, Utah

Check your favorite ski destination and see if they have something for your child.  Some are more affordable than others and some offer more services than others.

The opportunity is there.
