One of the things I really used to look forward to in life was dinner. Well, dinner and dessert. We used to eat some grand dinners around here. They were great. Delish, succulent dinners. Full of fat. And carbs. And sugar.
Now? Not so much. We are eating a low carb and almost no sugar diet now and can I just say, while this is good for us and Don and I are losing weight, it is at times disgusting.
Don used to call every day and ask what’s for dinner. I would tell him and we would marvel in the event to come. The anticipation was almost as good as eating the actual food. And the desserts we made we great. I really looked forward to them. We all did.
Now the conversation goes like this.
“What’s for dinner?”
“Meat…and low carb vegetables…maybe some cheese.”
“Oh”
Oh yes, try and contain your excitement, Don. That’s right. Another disgusting low carb dinner is on the way.
Revel in it.

And just for the record, tonight it’s grilled sausages and roasted cauliflower. And water with lemon for dessert.
