Mission Accomplished

We had a really nice weekend.

Don and Rye had a good day playing paintball.  Rye reconnected with a friend he had been missing and had not seen in many months and got to spend some time with him.  And Don and I actually got to have a date night and then even another night with a nice, adult meal out alone together!  Yay!  It was divine!  For all parties.

And I’m looking forward to a low-key week.

We have gotten now Rye into a good homeschool schedule with some interesting enrichment classes, a basketball team, regular church activities and youth group meetings and a good amount of other social activities.  So things are clicking along.  And we have also now *I think* finally extricated ourselves from some toxic friends left over from public school that were keeping Rye inflamed in middle school crazy, dysfunctional social madness.   My word these kids are hard to get rid of.  They just don’t want to let go.  But hopefully we’ve said our last good-byes.

Sweet serenity.

We did too. We don’t get many date nights these days now that we ditched all of the sleepover friends.
