Just A Happy Little Moron

This is what my grandmother used to say.  Anytime someone was happy or silly or giddy or possibly appeared to be blissful yet also a bit out to lunch she would look at them and say “just a happy little moron”.  It was a term of endearment.
This picture is of me (the one in the [...]

Thanksgiving Weekend

Well, we have had a really nice Thanksgiving weekend over here.  It has been very low key and lovely.  We have eaten about 200 pounds of food, slept and slept and slept, watched movies, watched more movies, and basically just relaxed and really slowed down.  Rye went hunting with a friend’s family for a day [...]

Giving Thanks

The fall leaves here have been incredible this year.  The colors have been gorgeous and have lasted for weeks now.  The leaves above have been digitally altered, of course, to be more pink but they are from our yard.  Sometimes things that deviate from the norm are beautiful.  After all, God did call us all [...]

‘Boy Blue’ painting from Brenda York,  www.brendayork.blogspot.com
Well, Rye’s decision yesterday did not turn out to be a great one for him.  We ended up having to go pick him up from the friend’s house and he is now grounded from free time with friends through Christmas.  He also lost his bike.
Stubborn kid.

The Dog Show

Well, I’ll tell you, we have been keeping busy.  The homeschool groups in our area are really active and they find every little thing there is to do around here and can keep you busy forever doing a million different things if you so desire.   It’s been fun.
Anyway, one of the things we did this [...]

Tora! Tora! Tora!

A few weeks back Don and I took Rye and a couple of his friends to see a World War II airshow. I can’t tell you how cool this airshow was.  We saw tons of different WWII airplanes, a couple of different sets of parachuters, a trick plane and an air show with people walking [...]

Ethereal

One of the men that worked with Billy Graham in the Billy Graham ministry for years and years came to lead a prayer in the church we attended this week.  I am so glad we went as this was by far the single most moving verbal prayer I have ever heard in my life.  The [...]
