Rye got in trouble last week for having a conversation in Spanish with a student from Mexico during computer class, to the exclusion of the other students in the class.
The teacher was pretty upset about it. She made it a point to find me in person when I picked him up to tell me about it.
Passionately.
After she spoke,
I thought about it and thought about it.
Quickly, mind you.
But after a tense 3 seconds of deep contemplation,
I decided I didn’t have the heart to tell her.
Rye doesn’t speak Spanish.
Must have been one humdinger of a conversation.

This also made me smile! My daughter also does not speak Spanish, but using a dictionary she has taught herself all the swear words in Spanish. I’ve had to watch her like a hawk whenever she is around Spanish-speaking people. You’ve got to be able to laugh, or else we would cry!!
Ok, hang on here. Didnt the SPANISH teacher realize that Rye does not speak Spanish??? How could it be possible that she teachers SPANISH and did not realize he was not speaking it?????
Good God, that school is like falling down Alice’s rabbit hole isnt it?
Oh, I see, it wasnt the Spanish teacher, but the computer teacher. Well, that is a LITTLE better.
