the hours in between
are calm and serene
waiting to see
what the night will bring
the party now is under way
so we prepare to go
but will we stay
it’s impossible to say
for you see
it’s hard to beat
the hours in between

I took this to mean the time in between episodes that is such a gift. Thanks for the neat poem!
Hi Sarah: Thanks. I guess the great thing with poems is that, like any piece of art, they can mean whatever the reader wants them to mean. When I wrote this I was referring to the literal time in the late afternoon on a weekend day after we have done all of our daily things and are then napping or laying low getting ready to go out at night. I love this calm time of day. Calm yet filled with anticipation. And one of the rare ’still’ times I get to spend with my husband.
But hey, I like your interpretation as well. Yours is much deeper
people are stupid
I like to think of myself as only occasionally stupid. But, hey, to each his own.
