The Beach

In true Rye fashion, we never sit and dwell on things for too long.

He was home one day, told his tales of the hospital to his Paw-Paw and processed it with him, and his Paw-Paw invited him (and his other grandson who is Rye’s age) to go to the beach for a few days.  Bags and meds were quickly packed and off they went.   Rye was so excited to go and I think it will be good for him to spend some time with Paw-Paw fishing out on the ocean.  Those two have a 60 year age difference but are like peas in a pod with their love of the ocean and fishing.  Paw-Paw had all but lost his luster while Rye was manic and as a result Rye hadn’t seen him in a very long time.  Now that he has come back down to earth, Rye is excited to see him and spend time with him and seems able to appreciate his relationship with Paw-Paw and value it again as he always used to when he was younger.   It’s nice to see.

I hope they have a good time.

As for me, I go to my first visit with Rye’s new therapist today.  I hope I like him.

Ahh, the ocean, it’s the place to heal us all. I really need to get there soon someday. I hope Rye has a great time and creates some special memories with Paw-PAw. Good luck with the appointment, I hope it’s a good fit!

I agree. I think the best way to heal bad memories is to create good memories. And make your life as full as possible of good ones.
