We have had a nice weekend over here. Rye is still hyper but we have stayed really busy and that has helped. He had a friend stay with us until late this morning and yesterday Don was pooped from the week so I took the boys out on the lake on the boat to go tubing. They did this:
For hours. They had a blast and it really wore them out.
Then we parked the boat on an island in the lake and they built a rope swing like this:
It took them a while to do it but they were determined. They were hoping to be able to do this on it:
It didn’t quite turn out like that. But they worked hard on it. And they had fun. We all came home and went to bed fairly early. Life on the boat is fun but can be very tiring.
Today we tried a new church that is really near our house. It is the polar opposite of the church we have been attending off and on and we loved this new one. The new one is a traditional, old-school, country church. It is small and not fancy at all but it was so lovely I can’t even tell you. Everyone was so welcoming and they have a large middle/high school student group there which is good for Rye. They meet Sunday mornings, Sunday nights, and Wednesday nights so we will go mostly Sunday morning and Wednesday nights. Rye and Don both like it so it’s a go and it was so great to have it so close to our house. It only took us 10 minutes door to door to get there. I actually really looking forward to going back Wednesday night for the spaghetti dinner.
