We had the funniest thing happen here last night.
It involved Rye having a very surface level cut, the concept of ripping flesh, and the anticipation of his leg falling off. And honestly, I have not laughed that hard in eons. I actually wet my pants because I could not stop laughing. Literally, I could barely breathe I was laughing so hard.
I won’t go into all of the details but suffice it to say once he realized he was not dying, he only had a tiny flesh wound that was easily fixed and the whole thing was hilarious, we never heard the end of it [he likes to entertain]. He played it up for the rest of the night and had me laughing non-stop for a good 20 minutes and then intermittently through the evening and this morning.
I swear, that kid is something else. Luckily he knows how to laugh at himself and has a very good sense of humor otherwise he would have a hard time in this house. Honestly, one can only take so much fear, anxiety and gross seriousness before everyone in the house is medicated. And with all of his fears we could stay immersed in them a good deal of the time if we allowed it. So we use laughter to keep our sanity. And it works. I have never heard him even use the word flesh before and I never want to forget that incident.
It was definitely one to remember.
