Clotus: A Celebration Of Shortness

12cloat

We have two dogs,  Clotus and Letta.

This is our dog Clotus. He is a full bred Short Jack Russell Terrier.  This means he is super short.

Clotus was the runt of his litter.  He is very ‘off breed’ (ie, he is too unlike his parents in stature and color to be bred).  Becasue of this, we got him from a great breeder for a very low price.  He was 6 months old when we got him.  Clotus was raised on a farm.

Clotus is glorious.   He is the most sweet, docile, loving, devoted dog I think I have ever had.  Don says he is by far the most devoted dog he has ever had.  They are really attached.  Don is Clotus’ alpha master and Don and Clotus share the same last name [Rye, Letta and I have a different last name, more on that later].  There are those of us who say Clotus is slow or developmentally disabled, if you will.  Don says otherwise.  Don says he is just one of the very few incredibly docile, sweet, unhyper Jack Russells in the world.  Ok, whatever.  Whatever you want to call him, he is seriously the sweetest dog ever.  A bit “Lennie-ish”, if you ask me, but I realize no one is asking.  You get the point, though.

Clotus loves ice cream, plain pasta, dog treats, pizza crust, and really almost any kind of food.  He’s a foodie at heart.  Although Clotus was bred from Irish Jack Russells we are pretty sure there  was a slip in the bloodline somewhere and as a result he has some Italian blood in him.  He really resembles those of Italian descent and I’m pretty sure this is why Don relates to him so much.  Don is half Italian.

Clotus is the complete opposite of his sister Letta.  But more on her later.

Dogs are wonderful companions – I have a Springer Spaniel that is truly part of my family. I will sit out on my porch smoking my pipe and he will lay restfully by my side until we get up for a leisurely stroll through the gardens.

I agree Charles. Dogs are wonderful. We consider both of our dogs to be integral members of our family.
