Apparently they are in the boy’s bathroom at Rye’s school.
Where there are no cameras.
Yesterday a bad fight broke out while Rye was in the bathroom at school. In one of his crowning moments, not only did he not participate in the fight but he also ran out and told a teacher what was happening to help the kid that was being beat up. He then wrote a two page description about what happened to help the school administration. Rye said he got really scared when 2 kids starting ganging up on another and were really beating him up hard and then he heard a snap in the kid that was being beat up. He was literally scared they were going to kill or paralyze the kid.

Anyway, I was glad he told. The kids he told on were mad at him for telling but luckily Rye is a really big kid for his age and even for the school as a whole so he’s not scared of retaliation. I guess he feels capable of defending himself.
It’s funny though how he’s so scared of some things in life and then completely unafraid of others.
And it’s so unpredictable.
I’m glad for the kid being hurt he told though. Kids should not have to worry about being hurt at school. It’s not conducive to learning. But it’s reality, I guess.

Good for him! I think it will help him feel more capable in other areas too.
