Dear Rye,
I know you are struggling right now. The past couple of days have been rough and your mind is on overload. And yet you are pulling through it.
I can see you are pulling through it.
I know you are struggling with school. Just when you got really comfortable with Mr. Wonderful, the secure and relaxed resource teacher who really understood kids with learning disabilities, the school up and changed their staffing and you got Ms. God Awful instead. The abrasive, “whip-them-into-shape” resource teacher. And, darn it, right after we doubled your resource time to include English and Math. Yikes. I am so sorry.
School has always been hard for you and now you have to go from

The adjustment is hard. I’m sorry. I know it’s hard. And people should treat each other with respect. And IEPs should be followed. But unfortunately this is not always the way the world works.
But I have your back.
I will always be here for you. And you will always have a soft place to fall.
So go ahead, fall. I’ve got you.
